Product Description
A combination of:
Cappuccino Series
The coffee-like colour and surface quality of these tea bowls is gained by using a manganese wash under a semi-matt dolomite glaze.
Black Mint Series
This gentle but powerful colour combination of matt black combined with rich, glassy green comes from a base layer of blue glaze containing copper and barium, under a bronze glaze.
Deep Sea Series
This colour is achieved by a thick application of copper blue glaze. The thicker the glaze, the deeper the blue.
Bronze Series
This glaze contains both manganese dioxide and copper, which work together at high temperature to reveal a metallic finish.
White Satin Series
A soft, tactile surface quality here comes from a base layer of a chun type glaze, transparent and glassy, underneath a milky white matt dolomite glaze.
Eton Mess Series
The raspberry ripple effect here is a result of a base coat of pink glaze stain topped with creamy dolomite glaze. At high temperature these two layers interact resulting in a variegated, painterly surface.
Blue Black Series
This handsome combination comes from a base layer of copper blue glaze with bronze painted over. Another version of this comes from copper glaze combined with dolomite.
The tea bowls in this series are all unique, beautiful hand crafted items.
They are individually thrown and carved, then glazed and fired to a high temperature, which makes them very resilient; dishwasher and microwave safe.
Each tea bowl is approximately 10cms deep x 8cms diameter and holds approximately 8 fluid ounces of liquid (225 ml)
The unglazed clay foot ring will soften with time and use like a sea washed pebble.
The contours of each piece allow the hand a comfortable, tactile feel, whilst the colours and textures of the bowls repay close examination for their contemplative, rich depth of surface.
To drink a cup of tea or coffee from one of these bowls every day will improve the quality of your day like a friendly companion.
Please allow 4 weeks for delivery of your tea bowls.
